Objective: SWBAT characterize Baba based on his actions, dialogue, and narrator’s descriptions.
Do-Now: Describe your father. What does he look like? What is his personality like? What does he do for a living? What are some of his traits that set him apart from others?
Today: 1) Class will share out Do Now responses. Teacher will review Chapter 1 and the beginning of Chapter #2. What have we learned so far about the character Hassan?
2) Class will finish reading Chapter #2, continuing to characterize Hassan.
3) Students will begin to read Chapter #3, beginning to characterize Baba. Class will discuss the character, Baba, and the effect he has on the narrator, Amir.
